GAFFNEY, S.C. (February 21) - The O'Reilly East Dirt Racing Series will roll into Cherokee Speedway for the 6th Edition of the $10,000.00 to win "March Madness" Super Late Model race on Sunday March 2nd.

"March Madness is a great way for us to start off the season with a big event," said Cherokee Speedway promoter Lennie Buff. "We made several changes to the speedway last season that gave the track new life. We had over 85 different feature winners last season. I think that says a lot about the competition and the racing we have to offer. The fans have gotten used to seeing side by side racing again, and we enjoyed bringing it back to them."

World of Outlaw's star, Clint "Catdaddy" Smith will have to be as equally sly as he was last year if he plans to repeat as race Champion. He will face stiff competition from standouts Chris "Smokey" Madden, Dennis "Rambo" Franklin, Petey Ivey, Jonathon Davenport, Casey Roberts, Ricky Weeks and many more. The track record of 16.968 seconds set last season by Shane Clanton is likely to fall.

Saturday, March 1st will be open practice for the Super Late Models as well as heat racing for the City Crate Late Models, Limited Sportsman, Super & Street Stock 4, Renegade, and Young Gun divisions.

Sunday March 2nd will feature the Super Late Model qualifying and heat races with feature races in all divisions. City Late Models will use the new Big 10 format. Sunday afternoon will headline the 60 Lap $10,000 to win Super Late Model main event. Gates open at 11 AM. Drivers meeting at 12 PM. Hot Laps & Feature Racing will follow promptly at 1 PM on Sunday.
