MARYVILLE, Tenn. (February 11) - Mountain Raceway Park & Fairgrounds has released their 2008 racing schedule. The schedule is loaded with special events, great weekly action, and big money races for each support class.

The season will get underway with a couple of open practice sessions on March 1 and March 8. Weekly racing action starts on March 15 with the first points race of the season. Points racing will conclude on September 13.

A number of special events are on the 2008 schedule with plenty of variety for all types of motorsports fans. Mountain Raceway's first special event will be the $3,000 to win Advance Auto Parts Thunder Series on Saturday, March 22. The Advance Auto Parts Thunder Series will visit MRP a total of five times in 2008 with other races on May 10, July 19, August 30, and the series finale on November 1.

The O'Reilly Southern All-Stars Series will return again to "The Mountain" on Saturday, June 7 for a $5,000 to win race.

Mountain Raceway will welcome the Southern Regional Racing Series for the track for the first time on April 12. That race will be a $3,000 to win race.
Once again, MRP will host the $3,000 to win Atomic Memorial race on Saturday, August 2. The newest Hall of Fame inductees will also be announced.

Mountain Raceway Park will also host big money events for the support classes throughout the season, giving those racers a chance to race for their own big prize.

Other special events are also planned for 2008 at Mountain Raceway Park. The AMA Flat Track Series will visit MRP on Saturday, June 21. The Lucas Oil Monster Truck and Tractor Pull show will visit on Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26. The monster truck and stunt bike show presented by Thunder Promotions will be Saturday, July 5.

Mountain Raceway will also have bicycle races for the kids on selected race nights throughout the year.
