TAMPA, Fla. (February 6) - Kellen Chadwick, the 22 year-old driver from Oakley, CA, is in Tampa, FL for the 2008 DART Winternationals Lucas Oil Dirt Car Series events running from Feb. 4th - 9th. Having ran very well at many West Coast events during his first few years in the Late Models, Kellen has his sights at doing well at many National events this year.

Making his season debut at the Winternationals, Kellen hopes he can make several feature events and keep improving each day of the event on his first ever visit to the track. Things got off to a rough start on Monday. Having practiced and hot lapped well, when it came time to qualify, the car did not feel right. Starting from near the rear of his heat race, he was unable to move forward very much. A 'B' Main crash ended his night. The good news is that repairs were made and some rear suspension issues were found and worked on. On Tuesday, he missed the final transfer spot in his heat, which again relegated him to a 'B' main. Running second, and in the final transfer spot, Dennis Erb, the 2007 UMP National Late Model champion, displaced Kellen back to third, ending his hopes of making the feature. Kellen is getting more comfortable and is excited to run the rest of the week at East Bay Raceway Park.

Currently, Kellen's website, www.kellenchadwick.com, is undergoing a renovation. In the coming weeks, a relaunch will occur, providing all the details of Kellen's racing throughout the 2008 season.
