KENNEDALE, Tex. (January 21) - A fifth IMCA division joins Saturday night programs at Kennedale Speedway Park this season, with the introduction of Crate Models to the 1/4-mile dirt oval.

"We've never had any type of late model here before and were looking for something different," promoter Richard Snider said. "There are other late models in the area with $25,000-$30,000 motors. The cars are all the same. We wanted something with an affordable motor, so we decided to go with the Crate Model."

The first track in Texas to feature Crate Models, Kennedale also sanctions its Modifieds, Southern SportMods, Stock Cars and Hobby Stocks with IMCA.

All five divisions will be on the card when KSP hosts its season opening Spring Kick-Off special on Saturday and Sunday, March 1-2. All IMCA points will be awarded for shows both evenings.

Kennedale's regular season runs through Sept. 20. The 2008 season ends with the Oct. 2-4 Showdown special, which also sports the five IMCA classes.
