MENOMONIE, Wisc. (January 9) - Jimmy Mars is slated to travel out west this week to open up his 2008 racing season! At the end of his '07 campaign, Jimmy drove Jess Anderson's #H2 MasterSbilt from Mars entry to a victory in Las Vegas and he will once again be piloting an Anderson-owned machine at the Central Arizona Raceway starting this Saturday. The Casa Grande, Arizona speedplant will play host to five Dirt Late Model events from January 12-20, but Jimmy will only be present for the weekend races. On January 12 and 19, a $3,000 top prize is up for grabs for the Dirt Late Model division. A $5,000 winner's share is then on the line on January 13 while a $7,500 to win finale is planned for January 20. You can learn more about the 'Wild West Shootout' online at www.centralazraceway.com!

"It should be a lot of fun to travel back to Arizona and do a little January racing," quoted Mars this week. "Jess (Anderson) has great equipment and I am looking forward to the four nights that I get to compete at the Central Arizona Raceway. Since we are busy building cars and I am not traveling to Florida to kick off our season like I normally do, this is the perfect opportunity for me to get my "racing fix" before our own season starts at Pike County in late March."

Jimmy is fresh off one of his best seasons in his 22-year racing career. The Mars Racing team entered seventy-one Dirt Late Model events in '07 and reached victory lane on fourteen different occasions. In those races, Jimmy also accumulated thirty-three Top Five finishes and forty-nine Top Ten performances. In a year of so many highlights, a few of them are listed below:
