ALLEN, Ky. (January 4) - Following a relatively short off-season, Brandon Kinzer and his #18 Dirt Late Model team are headed south to enter their first event of the 2008 racing season. As in previous years, Brandon will open up his season at the Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama this weekend. The annual 'Ice Bowl' will take place at the track deemed as the "Hornets Nest" and a $6,000 top prize is up for grabs for the Super Late Models. The weekend, which will start for the Kinzer Motorsports team on Friday, January 4 with an open practice session, will be highlighted by a 50-lap feature event on Sunday, January 6. You can view more information on this race on the TST website, which is located online at www.talladegashorttrack.com!

"I am looking forward to getting our 2008 season underway," quoted Kinzer today via telephone. "There isn't very much of an off-season these days, but enough time to go through your equipment and then get back at it. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate this weekend and we can have a strong start to our '08 campaign."

Following this weekend's 'Ice Bowl,' the Kinzer Motorsports team will take about a month off before heading to the Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida for six Dirt Late Model events from February 11-16. Both the UMP DIRTcar Series and the World of Outlaws Late Model Series will sanction events at the Daytona-area venue. You can view the early season racing plans for the #18 team online at www.brandonkinzer.com!
