WINFIELD, Tenn. (November 25) - Winfield, Tennessee native Mike Marlar competed out west for the second straight weekend, this time behind the wheel of Dean Moore's #114 C.J. Rayburn entry. The Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada played host to the annual 'Duel in the Desert' last weekend and a strong field of cars turned out for the two-day event. On Friday night, November 16, Mike timed in twenty-first fastest in qualifying and later ran third in his competitive heat race. After rolling off from the inside of the eighth row for the $1,000 to win A-Main, Mike passed four cars en route to an eleventh place performance.

The 'Duel in the Desert' finale then took place on Saturday evening, November 17 and a $5,000 top prize was up for grabs. Mike finished sixth in his dash, which earned him the eleventh starting spot for the 40-lap main event. The driver known as the "Winfield Warrior" had problems early on in the race and wound up twenty-fifth in the final rundown. You can view full results from Sin City online at www.lvms.com!

"We had a lot of fun out west at Manzanita and Vegas and I have to thank the Bartels family and Dean Moore for letting me drive their cars," commented Marlar this week via telephone. "I just didn't have a lot of luck out at Vegas last weekend, but it was a good experience to get out into a different part of the country and do some racing. We had a great season and I have to thank everyone associated with Stephens Motorsports for their help and support throughout the year."

Mike wound up entering nearly ninety shows in 2007 and reached victory lane on thirteen different occasions. In addition to his wins, Mike also racked up thirty-eight Top Five finishes and forty-six Top Ten performances.
