BOONE, Iowa (May 25) - He only races there a couple times a year, but Josh Most has to consider Boone Speedway one of his favorite tracks.

Most won for the first time in his Deery Brothers Summer Series career on Memorial Day, topping the main event for IMCA Late Models at Boone and earning $2,000. He'd run second in the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals Deery feature last September.

Two other drivers making their first tour appearances of 2009 followed Most to the checkers. Pole starter Jason Hahne was a series career-best second while Craig Roberts matched his career-best finish in third. Todd Cooney was fourth and Jeff Aikey was fifth in taking
sole possession of the point lead.

Hahne led the first half of the 40-lapper, with the outside row one starting Roberts close behind much of that distance.

Most was up to third when the caution flag came out on lap 21. He went to a higher line to pass Roberts and Hahne, and led the rest of the way.

Cooney made the feature through his "B" feature and moved up 15 spots. On the move early, he'd gotten caught up in an eight-car pileup and had to re-start toward the rear, but worked his way through again. Aikey was also a "B" qualifier and passed nine cars to make the top five.

Provisional starters Terry Neal and Jason Frankel moved up 15 and 13 places to finish seventh and eighth, respectively. Ray Guss Jr. had gone into the night tied with Aikey for the point lead and ran ninth.

The early pileup that relegated Cooney to a re-start deep in the field also knocked Rob Toland and Jay Johnson - sixth and seventh in the point standings - as well as Tyler Bruening and Matt Strassheim from the contest.

Defending Deery champion Boone McLaughlin was also involved but still fashioned a 10th place finish.

Other feature winners during the Monday special at Boone were John Logue in the IMCA Modifieds, Brett Meyer in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, Bryan Trogdon in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Devin Smith in the IMCA Hobby Stocks.

Next up on the tour schedule are stops on June 16 at Cresco Speedway and on June 17 at Fayette County Speedway in West Union.
