DILLON GOES TWO FOR TWO WITH CAROLINA CLASH SUPER LATE MODELS AT 311 FASTRACK

Clash PR
MADISON, N.C. (May 8) - Austin Dillon was able to wrangle his second win of the season at 311 Fastrack during the 40 lap, $4,000 to win feature event. Dillon is now two for two, taking home both races held at 311 Fastrack thus far this year.

When the green came out, it was the 3 of Austin Dillon showing the 24 car starting field the fast way around the high banked, half mile at 311. Dillon was setting a blistering fast pace and was already lapping cars by lap 8. In the middle of the pack, the Blackwell brothers of Timmy and Chris were battling hard, showing some more brotherly love to each other for the position. This time, Timmy was able to hold off Chris for the position which was a flip flop from the Fayetteville race nearly a month ago when Chris held off Timmy for the 4th position. There was great racing taking place throughout the entire field with every position from 2nd to the tail end of the field being heavily contested for as you could throw a blank over all of the drivers.

The first caution came out when the 08 of Michael Marlowe spun in turn 4 and came to a stop. On the very next lap, the A1 of Randle Chupp came to a stop on the high side of turn 4 and was unable to continue. The final caution flew on lap 30 when the 17 of Timmy Blackwell came to rest on the backstretch. On the restart, Dillon was able to yet again motor away from the field as the battle was for the second position which was held by the 2 of Dennis Franklin. When the checkers were dropped, Austin Dillon was the first car to come across the line followed by Dennis Franklin, the 54 of Ricky Weeks, the 22 of G.R. Smith, and the 15 of Dean Bowen.

The hard charger award went to the 07 of Brian Ledbetter who was able to pass 6 cars during the feature event. The hard luck award went to the 421 of Anthony Sanders who broke his second driver shaft of the night during the pace laps and was unable to continue.
