Austin Hubbard Wins Wild One at Delaware International

by Ben Shelton
SEAFORD, Delaware (April 19) - Austin Hubbard only led one lap on Saturday night at Delaware International Speedway, but it was the most important one in his Trinity Logistics #11 Mastersbilt by Huey/Cornett Racing Engine Super Late Model.

“That was a lot of fun tonight,” said Hubbard in victory lane. “Kerry (King) drove a great race, and he really made me work hard for it. It’s always great to race here at home, and I want to thank all of my fans and sponsors for their great support.”

Staying close to home, Austin Hubbard traveled to Delaware International Speedway (Delmar, Delaware) on Saturday night, powering the AMH Enterprises #11 Super Late Model. He started the night by winning his heat race to earn a front-row-starting spot alongside, Kerry King for the 20-lap finale. Hubbard ran 2nd for much of the event as he pressured King relentlessly for the lead. Austin would make a final-lap charge in turns 3 and 4, and would edge ahead of King to take the win. The victory was his first of the season. King, Ricky Elliott, Nick Davis, and Joe Warren completed the top five finishers.

Next on tap for the “Delaware Destroyer” is a doubleheader this weekend, April 22-23, with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. Action opens with a $10,000-to-win event on Friday night at Sharon Speedway (Hartford, Ohio) before moving to Hagerstown Speedway (Hagerstown, Maryland) on Saturday evening for a $12,000-to-win affair.

Austin Hubbard would like to thank their principal and associate sponsors including Trinity Logistics, Salisbury Door and Hardware, Keyser Manufacturing, Mastersbilt by Huey, Cornett Racing Engines, WAR Shocks, Sunoco Race Fuels, Schaefer Oil, Team Peterson Fluid Systems, Performance Bodies, Ernie D's Enterprises, Three Wide Clothing, ASI Wear, Jones Racing Products, WearWide.com, and MSR Mafia Marketing Services.
