Billy Moyer Jr. Enjoys Strong Illini 100; Tennessee Double Dip Next

BATESVILLE, Arkansas (April 5) – Billy Moyer Jr. enjoyed a strong weekend in his Crop Production Services #21jr Victory Chassis/Pro Power Racing Engine Super Late Model as he bagged a couple of top ten finishes in World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series competition during the annual Illini 100.

Returning to action with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series (WoOCLMS), Billy Moyer Jr. invaded Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Illinois) on Saturday night for the opening round of the annual Douglas Dodge Ram Trucks Illini 100. With forty-eight Super Late Models signed in for the two-day event, Moyer Jr. reeled in a heat race win, earning him a 3rd place starting spot for the $6,000-to-win feature. Billy battled at the front of the pack throughout the 25-lap affair before scoring a 3rd place finish behind race winner, Josh Richards, and Ryan Unzicker with Brandon Overton and Steve Casebolt rounding out the top five.



On Sunday afternoon in a field of forty-five cars, Billy posted the fastest time in qualifying earning him a front row starting spot for his heat. Following a heat race victory, Moyer Jr. drew the 4th-starting spot for the $15,000-to-win, A-Main. Hanging on to the lead until lap 19, Billy surrendered the top spot to the red-hot Josh Richards. Over the remainder of the event Moyer Jr. began to battle the handle on his entry as the track began to change. Hanging on to a top-ten finish, Billy Moyer Jr. recorded a 9th place outing in the 75-lap affair.  

“Even though I hated to see Sunday’s feature get away from me, this was a really great weekend for our team,” commented Moyer Jr. “Speedweeks didn’t go as well as I had hoped, but this weekend we were really competitive, and we were able to make up a lot of ground in points. I’m really excited about where this team is at right now, and I want to thank all of my sponsors and supporters for helping make it possible.”

Jr. Motorsports will continue on the WoOCLMS trail this weekend, April 8-9, with a doubleheader in Tennessee. Friday night will take the team to Duck River Raceway Park (Wheel, Tennessee) before they head to the “Bad Fast Taz,” Tazewell Speedway (Tazewell, Tennessee) on Saturday evening.
