Jeep Van Wormer Wraps Up '15 Season in Fall 50 at Florence Speedway

PINCONNING, MICH (October 30) - Iron Motorsports closed out their version of the 2015 racing season on October 23-25 at the venerable Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky in the annual running of the 'Fall 50.' The unsanctioned doubleheader kicked off on Friday night with a $2,000 to win program. Jeep Van Wormer ran second in heat race action and later rolled off from the outside of the fourth row in the main event. The Pinconning, Michigan ace then vaulted past five competitors during the feature to bag an impressive third place podium performance behind only victor Jason Feger and runner-up Kent Robinson.

Following a rain-out on Saturday at the Cincinnati-area speedplant, the annual 'Fall 50' was pushed back to Sunday afternoon and a $5,000 top prize was on the line. Jeep slapped the wall in his heat race, but held on to finish fifth in the prelim. After starting the 50-lap headliner from the outside of the tenth row, Jeep blasted all the way up to eighth in the running order, but ultimately had to pit for a flat Hoosier tire. He rejoined the field at the tail and salvaged a thirteenth place effort in the 'Fall 50.' Full results from Florence Speedway can be viewed online at www.florencespeedway.com.

Including his January visit to Australia to race Down Under, Jeep competed in twenty-five (25) events during the course of his 2015 campaign and reached victory lane on two (2) different occasions. Both wins came on the American Late Model Series (ALMS) tour at Oakshade Raceway in Wauseon, Ohio ($5,100) and Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio ($2,000). In addition, Jeep also accumulated fourteen (14) Top Five finishes and seventeen (17) Top Ten showings throughout the year.
