Dennis Erb, Jr. Ninth in $100k DTWC; Trip South to Whynot Next

CARPENTERSVILLE, ILL (October 22) - Dennis Erb, Jr. wrapped up the 2015 version of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series season on October 16-17 in the 35th edition of the 'Dirt Track World Championship' at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio. The two-day, crown jewel spectacular started with double heat races at PRP on Friday night and ended with the $100,000 to win headliner on Saturday evening. Dennis ran fourth in his loaded first heat race and was running strong in his second prelim before a broken axle relegated him to a ninth place effort.

After getting caught up in an early incident in his B-Main on Saturday, Dennis took use of a series provisional to gain access into the 100-lap DTWC. Despite the track taking rubber and turning one-groove before the halfway mark, the Carpentersville, Illinois standout was able to improve fifteen positions on his way to respectable ninth place showing in the extra-distance affair. Dennis was placed eighth in the final edition of the LOLMDS point standings following the series finale at Portsmouth Raceway Park. Complete results from the 'Dirt Track World Championship' weekend can be obtained online at www.lucasdirt.com.

The Dennis Erb Racing team will now turn their focus to Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Mississippi on October 23-24 for the 21st Annual 'Coors Light Fall Classic.' Qualifying and heat races for the unsanctioned special will be held on Friday night, while consolation events and the 100-lap feature will cap off the weekend on Saturday evening. The winner at Whynot this weekend will receive $15,000 for their efforts, while each main event starter will claim at least $1,000. Dennis has finished in the top ten the last four years in this race with a personal best of a runner-up effort back in 2011.

Dennis would like to thank all of his sponsors including: J.R.
