Jared Landers Runner-Up Finish in DTWC; Fall Classic at Whynot Next

by Ben Shelton
BATESVILLE, Arkansas (October 20) - Jared Landers continued his late-season, hot streak over the weekend by powering his Crop Production Services #777 Mark Martin Automotive/Sweet Bloomquist/Durham Racing Engine Super Late Model a runner-up finish in the 33rd Annual Optima Batteries Dirt Track World Championship.

Jared Landers headed to Portsmouth Raceway Park (Portsmouth, Ohio) on Friday night for the two-day, 33rd Annual Optima Batteries Dirt Track World Championship. With eighty-one entries signed in for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) season finale, Jared cruised to a heat race win and finished 2nd in another heat, which garnered him the 6th starting spot for Saturday night’s finale. Paying $100,000 to the feature winner, Jared gained four spots in the 100-lapper, scoring a runner-up finish to race winner, Scott Bloomquist with Don O’Neal, R.J. Conley, and Josh Richards rounding out the top five.

“I wish we could start the season over,” Landers commented after the race. “We have been running so well here at the end the season. We won Knoxville and then to run second tonight, it gives us a lot of momentum heading into next year.”

Jared ended the season seventh in the final series' standings. Complete series’ standings as well as complete results are available at www.LucasDirt.com .

Next on tap for Jared is a trip this weekend, October 23rd-24th, to Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi) to compete in the 21st Annual Coors Light Fall Classic. The event will be highlighted by a $15,000-to-win/$1,000-to-start finale.
