Clay Fisher Sweeps Mid-South Dirt Track Championship; Greenville Next

by Ben Shelton
DEWITT, Arkansas (September 29) - Clay Fisher raced to his first-career triumph with the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) by topping Saturday night’s 9th Annual Mid-South Dirt Track Championship in his SEMCOA #99 Black Diamond/Kuntz & Co. Racing Engine Super Late Model.

“We’ve been trying for a long time to win one of these COMP Cams Super Dirt Series features, so this really means a lot,” said Fisher. “We’ve had an awesome car for the past few months, but random bad luck has kept us from performing to our potential. Tonight we showed just how strong we are now.”

On Saturday night Clay Fisher made the trip to I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Arkansas) for the 9th Annual Mid-South Dirt Track Championship. Drawing a field of seventeen Super Late Models for the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) event, Fisher earned a front row starting spot for the feature via a heat race win. Clay charged to the lead on the second circuit and never looked back en route to capturing his first victory of the season and his first-ever with the CCSDS. He claimed the $3,000 payday with Jack Sullivan, Kyle Beard, Ronny Adams, and Jon Mitchell rounding out the top five.

Clay now turns his attention to the 9th Annual Gumbo Nationals, which will be held this weekend, October 1st-3rd, at Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi). The Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) Super Late Model event will be headlined by a $10,000-to-win/$1,000-to-start finale.

Clay Fisher would like to thank all of his sponsors including SEMCOA, Timber Outlaw – Clifford Fisher Custom Calls, Fisher Transportation Services, Moon's Towing & Recovery, Kuntz & Company Racing Engines, X-Treme Graphics by J-Rod, Horton Diesel Repair, Schaeffer's Specialized Lubricants, Black Diamond Race Cars, and MSRMafia.com Marketing Services.
