Ray Cook Runner-Up in Mississippi State Championship; North Georgia Next
 
BRASSTOWN, NC (September 24) - Ray Cook and his #53 team made a rare trip to Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Mississippi on September 18-19 for the 'Mississippi State Championship.' The Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) presided over the two-day special, which boasted a $4,000 payday.
 
On Friday night, Ray clicked off the fifth fastest lap in his group during the qualifying session prior to grabbing the third transfer spot through his heat race. After rolling off from the outside of the fourth row in Saturday's 50-lapper, the Brasstown, North Carolina ace advanced past six competitors - despite encountering brake issues late - to ultimately wind up second in the final finishing order behind only victor Bub McCool. The Ray Cook Racing team will now turn their focus to North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, Georgia on Saturday evening, September 26. The northern Georgia oval will play host to the annual running of the 'Biddle Ridley Memorial.' A 40-lap main event will highlight the action for the Super Late Models and a $3,000 top prize will be on the line.
