R.J. Conley Solid Throughout World 100 Weekend; Rod Conley on Podium at Atomic

(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) R.J. Conley and his #71c team rolled into the hallowed 1/2-mile speedplant of Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio from September 10-12 for the 45th Annual 'World 100.' The three-day crown jewel extravaganza once again kicked off with a pair of Twin 25 preliminary programs, each of which carried a $5,000 winner's check. On Thursday night, R.J. won his heat race, led the first four circuits of the 25-lapper, and eventually slipped back to fourteenth at the checkers. In Friday's show at Eldora, which was pushed back to Saturday afternoon due to persistent rain showers, R.J. once again won his heat race prior to bagging a twelfth place effort in the 25-lap main event.

All eyes were then fixated on the 45th edition of the 'World 100' on Saturday evening and a huge throng of race fans piled into the "Big E" to witness the festivities. R.J. placed second in his loaded heat race behind only victor Chris Madden and later started the $48,000 to win 'World 100' from the inside of the fourth row. After running inside of the top ten throughout the early stages of the 100-lap grind, the Wheelersburg, Ohio standout was eventually paid for a sixteenth place showing. Complete results from the extended weekend at Eldora can be accessed online at www.eldoraspeedway.com.

Delmas and Rod Conley both took their racing talents to Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio on Saturday night, September 12 for a weekly Super Late Model showdown. Delmas won his heat race in preliminary action and was leading early in the $2,000 to win feature event before suffering heavy nose damage from the rough racing surface, which dropped the Hall of Famer to a thirteenth place performance. "Hot Rod," who is leading the points in the AMRA Late Model division at Atomic, ran second in his heat race prior to nabbing a solid third place effort in the headliner behind only winner Billy Gullion and runner-up Michael Lake. Full results from Atomic Speedway on Saturday can be viewed by clicking on www.atomicspeedway.net.

With R.J. and his son J.T. Conley taking the upcoming September 18-19 weekend off from racing action, only two Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) drivers will be in competition. Delmas is scheduled to travel to Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio on Saturday for a $2,000 to win weekly Super Late Model show, while Rod will venture north to Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio for a similar weekly throwdown.
