Ray Cook Runner-Up in Crate at Cleveland; Heads to Kentucky for Tripleheader
 
BRASSTOWN, NC (September 3) - Ray Cook Racing made a surprise visit to the historic Cleveland Speedway in Cleveland, Tennessee on Saturday night, August 29 for a weekly Crate Late Model program. Shaking down a two-race-old Capital racecar, Ray Cook laid down the quickest lap during qualifying to earn the pole position for the 20-lap main event. The Brasstown, North Carolina ace then lost the drag race at the drop of the green flag and settled into the second position. At the checkers, Ray found himself a strong runner-up behind only $800 victor Jimmy Elliott, who started in the dominant outside groove. The #53 team is slated to head north over the Labor Day holiday weekend to enter a trio of Southern Nationals Bonus Series events in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Up first will be a visit to 201 Speedway in Sitka, Kentucky later tonight, September 3 for a $3,000 to win shootout. Two more $3,000 top prizes will be up for grabs on Friday evening at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, Kentucky and on Saturday night at Richmond Raceway in Richmond, Kentucky.
