Delmas Conley Runner-Up at Portsmouth; R.J. Conley Nabs Top Five with Outlaws

WHEELERSBURG, OH (August 27) - All four Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) drivers descended upon Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio on Friday night, August 21 for the start of a huge World of Outlaws Late Model Series doubleheader at the former K-C Raceway. While Delmas, Rod, and J.T. Conley unfortunately missed out on the $8,000 to win feature event, R.J. Conley was able to earn a transfer spot into the 40-lapper. R.J. suffered a flat tire in his heat race, but later stormed to third to grab the final transfer position through his B-Main. The Wheelersburg, Ohio ace then retired after only 28 circuits and settled for a nineteenth place performance.

On Saturday evening, August 22 at Atomic, R.J. won his loaded heat race prior to drawing the eighth starting spot before the drop of the green flag in the $10,000 to win headliner. He later picked off three competitors on his way to a strong fifth place effort behind only victor Josh Richards, Shane Clanton, Jared Hawkins, and Devin Moran. Rod and J.T. both advanced into the 50-lap main event through their consolation race and wound up eighteenth and nineteenth respectively in the caution-free affair.

Instead of sticking around at Atomic Speedway, Delmas headed back south to Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio on Saturday for a weekly Super Late Model shootout, which boasted a $2,000 payday. Delmas won his heat race in preliminary action and later finished an impressive runner-up in the A-Main behind only race winner Kenny Christy. Complete results from both Buckeye State ovals can be accessed online at www.atomicspeedway.net and www.portsraceway.com.

The CMI teams will head back to Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio and Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio this upcoming Saturday night, August 29. Rod and J.T. Conley are both scheduled to invade Atomic for a $2,000 to win weekly Super Late Model program, while Delmas and R.J. Conley will do the same on Saturday at Portsmouth.
