Dennis Erb, Jr. Leads Early; Finishes on Podium of $50k USA Nationals

CARPENTERSVILLE, ILL (August 6) - Dennis Erb Racing ventured to the renowned Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin from July 30-August 1 for the 28th edition of the 'USA Nationals.' Things kicked off on Thursday night with a $6,000 to win World of Outlaws Late Model Series shootout. Dennis Erb, Jr. placed sixth in his stacked heat race and fifth in his B-Main, which unfortunately did not transfer him into the 40-lap feature event.

On Friday evening at CLS, Dennis knocked down the fourth quickest lap in Group A during WOOLMS qualifying prior to scoring the victory in his heat race. Following a third place effort in the dash, Dennis started Saturday's 100-lap headliner from the inside of the second row. The Carpentersville, Illinois star then led laps 2-22 of the 'USA Nationals,' which once again boasted a whopping $50,000 payday, before eventually landing on the podium. At the conclusion of the crown jewel spectacular, Dennis found himself third behind only race winner Jonathan Davenport and runner-up Billy Moyer. Complete results from the three-day weekend at Cedar Lake can be accessed online at www.woolms.com.

Dennis and his #28 team will jump back on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series tour this upcoming weekend (August 7-8) at the venerable Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky. The 33rd Annual 'North/South 100' will take place this weekend at the undersized 1/2-mile speedplant and another hefty $50,000 top prize will be on the line. Double heat races will be held on Friday night at the Cincinnati-area oval, while pole dashes, consolation events, and the 100-lap 'North/South 100' will take center stage on Saturday evening. Dennis comes into the crown jewel extravaganza seventh in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings.
