Jimmy Mars Eyes Wild West Tour Following Red Cedar Speedway Win

MENOMONIE, WISC (July 1) -  Jimmy Mars, of Menomonie, Wisconsin, visited victory lane for the second time in 2015 on Friday night, June 26 at his hometown Red Cedar Speedway! Driving the red #21 normally piloted by his brother-in-law Scott Gilberts, Jimmy ran second in his heat race and later started the weekly Late Model feature event from the outside of the fourth row. The national superstar then blasted to the front of the field by lap seven and held the point throughout the remainder of the distance to claim the $1,000 win. Jimmy beat Rick Hanestad, A.J. Diemel, Chad Mahder, and Mike Prochnow to the checkers! Complete results from Red Cedar Speedway can be viewed online at www.redcedarspeedway.com.

"It was a good run for us the other night at Red Cedar and it was a lot of fun getting the opportunity to race around home again," quoted Mars this week. "We had plans to head to Lernerville first and then maybe some Summer Nationals races, but the weather was just horrible everywhere it seemed. So, we took the opportunity to put in some more hours at the shop and get some things caught up. I look forward to heading back out on the road in July with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series. Their swing up through this area is always a good time and I enjoy racing in front of all the great fans across the Upper Midwest."

The Mars Racing team will take the upcoming July 3-4 weekend off from racing action, but will be prepping their equipment for a huge upcoming month with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series. From July 9-August 1, Jimmy plans to enter all ten high-profile events with the national touring series, as they snake through the states of Minnesota, North Dakota, Wyoming, South Dakota, Illinois, and Wisconsin. The 'Wild West Tour' portion of the upcoming schedule is shown below:

July 9 | Hibbing (MN) Raceway, World of Outlaws | $10,000 to win
July 10 | River Cities (ND) Speedway, World of Outlaws | $10,000 to win
July 14 | Gillette Thunder (WY) Speedway, World of Outlaws | $10,000 to win
July 15 | Black Hills (SD) Speedway, World of Outlaws | $10,000 to win
July 18 | Deer Creek (MN) Speedway, World of Outlaws | $10,000 to win
