Dennis Erb, Jr. Wins $5,000 Prelim Night at Eldora; Finishes on Podium in DLM Dream CARPENTERSVILLE, ILL (June 10) - Dennis Erb, Jr. and his #28 team debuted a brand-new Black Diamond Chassis from June 4-6 in the 21st edition of the 'Dirt Late Model Dream' at the hallowed high banks of Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. Things kicked off at the "Big E" with a pair of preliminary Twin 25 showdowns, which helped set the field for Saturday's crown jewel extravaganza.
On Thursday night, Dennis timed in second fastest in his group during qualifying, ran second in his heat race, and later advanced up to third in the $2,500 to win feature to finish behind only winner Jonathan Davenport and runner-up Dale McDowell. At Eldora on Friday evening, Dennis won his heat race prior to grabbing the lead on lap 13 of the main event. The Carpentersville, Illinois star then led the remainder of the 25-lap distance to bag the $5,000 winner's check ahead of Tim McCreadie, Jason Feger, Don O'Neal, and Dale McDowell!
All eyes in the Dirt Late Model world were then focused on the huge $100,000 payday in the 'Dirt Late Model Dream' on Saturday at the Buckeye State speedplant. Dennis won his heat race in preliminary action and later started the 100-lap grind from the inside of the third row. He was a fixture towards the front of the stellar field throughout the extra-distance affair before crossing underneath the checkers in the fourth spot. However, with apparent winner Scott Bloomquist disqualified after the race, Dennis was moved up to a third place finish behind only victor Jonathan Davenport and runner-up Earl Pearson, Jr. Complete results from the weekend festivities at Eldora can be viewed online at

"We are obviously very happy with how our new Black Diamond Chassis performed all weekend at Eldora, we couldn't really ask for anything more," quoted Erb last night via telephone. "After shaking down the car at LaSalle on Sunday before the Dream, we hit on some things and really didn't change a whole lot throughout the weekend at Eldora. The thing was fast right out of the box and hopefully that continues this week at Brownstown and Magnolia. I have to thank all of my sponsors and supporters for their continued help and maybe we can get on a little roll as we head through the summer months!
With no rest for the weary, the Dennis Erb Racing team will roll into the legendary Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana tonight, June 10 for the start of the UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals tour. Dennis will vie for the $5,000 top prize tonight in a single-day throwdown in the Hoosier State. The #28 team will then trek further south to Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi on June 12-13 for the annual running of the 'Clash at the Mag.' The two-day Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series biggie boasts a $20,000 winner's check and will be taped by the television cameras of the Lucas Oil Production Studios.
