Garrett Alberson Qualifies for Dream Finale; LOLMDS at Magnolia Next by Ben Shelton
SHREVEPORT, Louisiana (June 10) – Garrett Alberson accomplished a feat over the weekend that few drivers ever achieve. He qualified for the Dirt Late Model Dream finale in his very first attempt at the event.
Garrett Alberson continued his 2015 racing season by making his first-ever trip to Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Thursday to compete in the opening round of the 21st Annual Dirt Late Model Dream in the Childress Racing #F5 Black Diamond/Durham Racing Engine Super Late Model. On night one of the three night event, with 84 Late Models in attendance, Garrett placed 9th in his heat transferring him into the B-Main. After starting in 12th, Alberson gained five positions but narrowly missed a transfer spot to the feature, ending his night early.
On Friday evening for the second leg of the crown jewel, Garrett Alberson recorded a 7th place finish in his heat transferring him into the B-Main. With a 5th place finish in his B-Main, Alberson again missed the transfer spot by one position, ending his night early.
For the third and final night, Garrett scored a 4th place spot in his heat missing a transfer spot by one position. However, a 2nd place finish in his consolation race sent him to the $100,000-to-win finale in the 24th starting spot. Bad luck struck in the feature, when dirt found its way into his left eye halfway through the race. Due to vision issues he would retire to a 20th place finish.
“Despite having the dirt mess up my vision in the feature, I’m so pumped for the way our weekend went,” said the soft-spoken, Alberson. “It took me a few nights to adjust to the speeds and driving style of Eldora, but once I did I fell in love with the place. I can’t wait to go back in September for the World 100.” He concluded by noting, “I can’t thank Raymond Childress and all of my great sponsors enough for their support and the great opportunity that they have given me.”

“We had a great car all weekend, and I just came up a little short in getting the wins,” said Alberson. “I’m getting really comfortable in the car now though, and this is just an amazing opportunity. I can’t thank Mr. Childress and all of my great sponsors enough for their support.”
This weekend, June 11th-13th, the team will head to Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) for the annual Clash at the Mag. The $20,000-to-win event will be sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS). For more information on the event, please visit
