Brandon Kinzer Eyes WOOLMS Visit to Ponderosa After Sixth Place Run at TSTALLEN, KY (May 7) - Brandon Kinzer and his #18 team ventured south to Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama on May 1-2 for a pair of Super Late Model specials, which accompanied the big NASCAR weekend across the street at Talladega Superspeedway. On Friday night, a $2,000 winner's check was up for grabs at the track deemed as the "Hornets Nest." Brandon ran fourth in his consolation race, which enabled him to start from the inside of the ninth row in the unsanctioned main event. During the course of the 30-lapper, BK moved up three spots en route to a fourteenth place effort.
The Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series (SAS) then rolled into TST on Saturday evening to preside over a $4,000 to win shootout. Brandon knocked down the second fastest lap in his group during time trials, which locked him into the outside of the second row for the start of the 40-lap headliner. The Allen, Kentucky ace fought hard for a top five finish before eventually settling for a sixth place performance behind only winner Randy Weaver, Riley Hickman, Ronnie Johnson, Todd Morrow, and Adam Martin. The World of Outlaws Late Model Series will sanction a huge $10,000 to win extravaganza at the 3/8-mile D-shaped red clay oval. A complete show featuring time trials, heat races, consolation events, and a 50-lap main event will thrill the fans in the Commonwealth of Kentucky tomorrow night.
