Mack McCarter Marches to Fourth at the Gap; WoO Weekend Next

GATLINBURG, Tennessee (April 7) – Mack McCarter was in familiar territory on Saturday night as the McCarter Brothers Racing team entered a Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series event at Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tennessee) in their McCarter Farms #51 Club 29 Super Late Model.



Twenty Super Late Models converged on the 4/10-mile, and with the feature line-up determined by qualifications Mack earned the sixth starting spot for the 40-lapper. McCarter fought a hard battle amongst the top five for much of the main event before crossing the finish line in fourth behind race winner, Chad Ogle, Riley Hickman, and Vic Hill. Mark Vineyard rounded out the top five finishers.

“It’s no secret that’s it’s been a challenging start to the year for our team, so to get our first top five is a definite shot in the arm,” noted McCarter. “Hopefully we can carry the momentum into this weekend’s big events.”

The upcoming weekend has Mack slated to go into battle with the World of Outlaws (WoO) Super Late Models in a pair of $10,000-to-win events in his home state of Tennessee. On Friday night racing action opens at Duck River Raceway Park (Wheel, Tennessee) before shifting to Tazewell Speedway (Tazewell, Tennessee) on Saturday evening.
