Brandon Kinzer Lands in Top Ten of SAS Shootout at Talladega Short Track ALLEN, KY (October 23) - The Kinzer Motorsports team made a trip south to Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama on October 17-18 for a pair of Super Late Model specials, which accompanied the big NASCAR weekend across the street at Talladega Superspeedway. On Friday night, an unsanctioned show was held at TST and a $2,000 winner's check was on the line. Brandon Kinzer knocked down the fourth fastest lap in Group B during the qualifying session, which locked him into the outside of the fourth row for the start of the 30-lapper. Fighting a tight racecar throughout the headliner, Brandon eventually pulled off the racing surface and was relegated to a disappointing nineteenth place performance.
At the track deemed as the "Hornets Nest" on Saturday evening, the Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series (SAS) rolled into town to preside over a $4,000 to win shootout. Brandon once again locked himself directly into the main event through qualifying by posting the fourth fastest time in Group A. After starting the 40-lap feature from the inside of the fourth row, the Allen, Kentucky native eventually wound up finishing right where he started... in the seventh spot. BK and his #18 team are scheduled to take the upcoming October 24-25 weekend off from racing action. However, they will be busy prepping their equipment for their next scheduled race, which is slated to be at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, Kentucky on October 31-November 1. The 24th Annual 'Fall Classic' will be held in the Bluegrass State next weekend and the Southern Nationals Bonus Race will pay $10,024 to the winner.
