Scott Groves and Eric Granger Join Forces for 2015by Ben Shelton
CANTON, Georgia (October 14) – Scott Groves, owner and driver of Zen Windows Racing (ZWR), is pleased to announce the formation of a two-car team for the 2015 racing season. ZWR will be joining forces with Dallas, Georgia racer, Eric Granger to expand its team, charitable vision, and marketing potential.
Groves and Granger are not only Super Late Model racers from Georgia, but they are also both major business owners. Groves owns Zen Windows Atlanta and is co-owner of Zen Windows USA. Granger is co-owner of AED (Atlanta Electrical Distributors), a major electrical supply business in the Greater Atlanta area.
"Creating a two-car team is something Eric and I have talked about on-and-off for most of the year. We finally decided the time was right to make the announcement and start building for 2015," says Groves. "Eric and I are both Christian family men with a passion for racing and helping others. We feel that our team is uniquely positioned to help us not only reach our racing goals but to also help fulfill our charitable goals as well."
"It just makes sense," contributes Granger. "Our plan is use the team to raise money and awareness for sick and underprivileged children. This is something that both Scott and I are extremely passionate about! This team is not just about us."
Both believe that a two-car team will help each driver fulfill their goals, and at the same time relieve some of the financial pressure of owning a Super Late Model team by sharing expenses. The two racers also believe that a two-car team will help make them more marketable to potential sponsors.
The duo has not decided on a chassis/motor combination or schedule for 2015 as of yet but will make that announcement before the end of the year.
"The goal right now is to start putting our marketing program in place for next season and beyond, and to find the 'right' partners to team with," says Groves. "Our marketing program will be very unique, and we will be donating a sizable amount of our sponsorship dollars to various children's charities during the next several seasons. We are also planning on promoting a charity race at a local dirt track next year to help raise additional money and awareness for children's charities."
To demonstrate their commitment to the vision and philosophy of the newly formed team both Groves and Granger have committed $50,000 each toward their sponsorship goals for 2015.
Groves concludes by saying, "We wanted to show anyone who is considering supporting us that we are vested in the success and charitable vision of this team."
