Morgan Bagley Surges to Top Five in Magnolia State 100

by Ben Shelton
LONGVIEW, Texas (October 14) – Team 14 and Morgan Bagley traveled to Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) over the weekend for the annual Magnolia State Cotton Pickin' 100 at the state-of-the-art oval and came away with a solid top five finish.

A talent-laden field of seventy-two entries registered for battle in the $20,000-to-win event, and on Friday evening via time trials Bagley locked into the fourth starting position for the second heat race. He powered his #14m P&W Sales/Rocket/Clements Super Late Model to a third place finish by mere inches, which locked him into the fifteenth starting spot for Saturday night's 100 lap feature.

As the finale went green on Saturday night, Bagley began to progressively work his way through the field. In the closing laps he would run as high as fourth in the running order before crossing the finish line in fifth behind race winner, Scott Bloomquist, Chris Simpson, Mike Marlar and Randy Weaver.

"That was a real good run for us this weekend," commented Bagley. "The car was good from the drop of the green flag and to come away with a top five against such a stout field of competitors just shows how far we've come with our program."

The team will enjoy a break this weekend before tentatively returning to action on October 23rd-25th with a trip to Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi) for the 20th Annual Fall Classic at the 3/8 mile oval. The unsanctioned event will be headlined by a $15,000-to-win finale. For more information, please visit www.WhynotMotorsportsPark.com .
