Riley Hickman Conquers the Hornet's Nest; Cotton Pickin' 100 Next

CLEVELAND, Tennessee (10/07/14) – Riley Hickman claimed his twelfth triumph of the 2014 season on Saturday night when a last-minute decision to race resulted in him visiting victory lane at Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Alabama) with his #R1 BIF Motorsports/Hickman Manufacturing Company/CVR  Late Model.

The Jerry Goodwin Memorial Championship was held in conjunction with the Ice Bowl Qualifier at the 1/3 mile oval. Hickman locked into the tenth starting spot on the feature grid via his preliminary efforts before charging to the $2,500 victory over Tim Busha, Josh Adkins, Terry Smith and Adam Martin.

"We've flirted with victory lane on several occasions over the past month so it felt great to finally get back there at Talladega," commented Hickman. "We had a great hot rod, which allowed us to charge through the field to the win."

This weekend, October 9th-11th, will find the team traveling to Johnny Stokes' Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) for the annual Cotton Pickin' Magnolia State 100. The $20,000-to-win/$1,200-to-start event is expected to draw many of the nation's best to the 3/8 mile oval. Action opens on Thursday evening with an open practice session, while Friday will see time trials and heat race action contested. On Saturday evening b-mains and the 100 lap finale will be held.
