Jeep Van Wormer Focuses on Big Berlin Weekend Following World 100 PINCONNING, MI (September 11) - The Iron Motorsports team made their yearly 'World 100' pilgrimage to the hallowed grounds of Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on September 4-6. The three-day, extended weekend kicked off with a pair of Twin 25s on Thursday and Friday, each of which paid $5,000 to the winner. Jeep Van Wormer unfortunately could not advance into his 25-lap main event on Thursday after finishing sixth in his heat race and eighth in his B-Main. The Pinconning, Michigan standout then enjoyed a better car underneath of him on Friday, as he placed fifth in his heat race, second in his B-Main, and twenty-third in the 25-lap headliner.
When Saturday evening rolled around at the "Big E," all eyes were focused on the prestigious globe trophy and the hefty $47,000 winner's check. Jeep was unable to dig out of the deep hole that he dug himself during the two preliminary nights and wound up finishing fifteenth in his stacked heat race. He failed to move on to one of the two consolation events and therefore missed out on the 100-lap 'World 100.' Following his surprising lackluster 'World 100,' Jeep will look to get pointed back in the right direction this upcoming weekend (September 12-13) at the dirt-covered Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan. The 'Down & Dirty 100,' which is once again sanctioned by the World of Outlaws Late Model Series, has been split up into two complete shows this year. Friday's 35-lap feature event will pay $8,000 to the winner, while a $12,000 payday will be on the line in Saturday's 65-lap weekend finale.
