Brady Smith Wins at Proctor and Hibbing Over Weekend; John Seitz Memorial Next SOLON SPRINGS, WISC (September 4) - Brady Smith Racing turned in an impressive Labor Day holiday weekend, as they racked up a pair of victories and an additional runner-up performance in a trio of races in the state of Minnesota from August 28-31. Things kicked off last Thursday with a dominating win in the 42nd Annual 'Silver 1000' at Proctor Speedway in Proctor, Minnesota. Brady Smith won his heat race in preliminary action and later started the WISSOTA headliner from the outside of the front row. The Solon Springs, Wisconsin standout then led from flag-to-flag in the feature to bag the $3,300 payday ahead of John Kaanta, Brent Larson, Kevin Carlson, and Zach Wohlers!
Next up for the #2 team was a visit to Hibbing Raceway in Hibbing, Minnesota for the two-day 'Labor Day Shootout' for the WISSOTA Late Models. On Saturday evening, Brady moved up five spots in his heat race to finish third and later started the $3,000 to win feature event from the inside of the second row. Brady then advanced up to second in the A-Main to record a strong runner-up effort behind only victor Jake Redetzke.
In Sunday's weekend finale at Hibbing, Brady took the win in his heat race from the pole position prior to rolling off from the inside of the third row in the 'Labor Day Shootout' main event. The popular driver known as "The Prodigy" then picked up his second triumph of the holiday weekend, as he beat Jake Redetzke, Jeff Massingill, Jeff Provinzino, and John Kaanta to the checkers to nab the $3,000 winner's check! Another premier event in the upper Midwest greets Brady Smith Racing this upcoming weekend, as they will venture to River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, North Dakota on September 5-6 for the 8th Annual 'John Seitz Memorial.' Heat races and a dash will highlight the program on Friday night at River Cities, while consolation events and the 92-lap feature will headline Saturday's portion of the program. Brady won the 'John Seitz Memorial' back in 2012 and finished an impressive runner-up in 2011. He will be gunning for the $9,200 top prize again this weekend.
