Brady Smith Runner-Up at Merritt; Huge Labor Day Triple Shot Ahead

SOLON SPRINGS, WISC (August 28) - The Brady Smith Racing team strolled into the Wolverine State of Michigan on August 22-23 for a pair of $10,000 to win World of Outlaws Late Model Series battles.  On Friday night at I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Michigan, Brady Smith knocked down the tenth fastest lap in Group A during qualifying prior to grabbing the fourth and final transfer spot through his heat race.  After rolling off from the outside of the seventh row in the 50-lap headliner, Brady unfortunately only completed one circuit and was relegated to a disappointing twenty-fourth place effort.

At Merritt Speedway in Lake City, Michigan on Saturday evening, another $10,000 top prize was on the line and Brady was gunning for his fifth victory of 2014.  He qualified eighth quickest in Group A during time trials and later finished third in heat race action.  The Solon Springs, Wisconsin standout then vaulted from his tenth starting spot in the 50-lapper to lead the stellar field from laps 19-29.  At the completion of the event at Merritt, Brady found himself a strong runner-up behind only victor Darrell Lanigan.  Complete results from both Michigan venues can be accessed online at www.woolms.com.

Brady and his #2 team are about ready to embark on a hectic Labor Day holiday weekend, which will see them enter three WISSOTA specials in the state of Minnesota from August 28-31.  Things will kick off later tonight with the 42nd Annual 'Silver 1000' at Proctor Speedway in Proctor, Minnesota.  A $2,500 winner's check will be up for grabs tonight along with $800 in extra lap money.  On Saturday and Sunday, the Hibbing Raceway in Hibbing, Minnesota will take center stage by hosting the annual 'Labor Day Shoot Out,' which boasts a pair of $3,000 paydays.  Additional information concerning these races can be found online at www.proctorspeedway.com and www.hibbingraceway.com.
