Billy Moyer Eyes Trip to Pevely on Saturday for $5,000 MARS/UMP Challenge
 
BATESVILLE, ARK (August 21) - Billy Moyer and his #21 team made the short tow to Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, Arkansas on August 15-16 for the 22nd edition of the 'Topless 100.'  A stellar field of 63 entrants converged on the Batesville area over the weekend and all eyes were fixated on the $40,000 winner's check.  Billy, who was seeking his fifth 'Topless 100' title, qualified third quickest in Group B during Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series time trials on Friday night and later scored the victory in his heat race over Chris Brown and Jared Landers.
 
After drawing the outside second row starting spot prior to Saturday's 100-lap headliner, Billy raced inside of the top five through the early portion of the race.  Unfortunately, "Mr. Smooth" encountered problems that caused him to retire under a lap 44 yellow and he was relegated to a disappointing twenty-fifth place effort.  Complete results from the roofless spectacular at Batesville Motor Speedway can be accessed online at www.lucasdirt.com.
 
Next up for the Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) team will be a visit to Federated Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri this Saturday, August 23.  A special event co-sanctioned by the MARS DIRTcar Series and UMP DIRTcar Series will be held this Saturday at the St. Louis area venue and a $5,000 top prize will be on the line.  Billy, who is usually lethal and one of the favorites each time he pulls through the pit gate at I-55, owns a pair of runner-up efforts already this year at the speedway.  Additional information on this race can be viewed by pointing your web browser to www.i55raceway.com.
