Billy Moyer Jr. Matches Career Win with Wooldridge $10k Triumphby Ben Shelton
BATESVILLE, Arkansas (July 15) - Matching the biggest win of his career Billy Moyer Jr. swept the 27th Annual Butterball Wooldridge Memorial at Richmond Raceway (Richmond, KY) for the $10,000 payday on Saturday night in his #21jr Crop Production Services/Mesilla Valley Transportation/ Moyer Xtreme by Longhorn/Pro Power Racing Engine Super Late Model.
Billy started his night by lowering the track record, and then cruised to the victory in his heat race to earn the pole for the feature. The finale found him leading all 50 laps in his #21jr Moyer Xtreme by Longhorn/Pro Power Racing Super Late Model to claim his seventh win of the season in front of a capacity crowd. Duane Chamberlain, Ben Adkins, Michael Chilton, and Stephen Breeding rounded out the top five finishers.
“Man, I wish I could just race in Kentucky every weekend,” Moyer Jr. said after winning his second race in the Bluegrass State in as many weeks and his fourth of the season. “You never know what to expect going to a track that you’ve never seen, but our car was great out of the box. My team is doing a great job, and I have to thank my sponsors and family for their great support.”

On Friday night Billy Moyer Jr. competed at Tri City Speedway (Pontoon Beach, Illinois) in the $10,000-to-win affair with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. Billy's night started strong as he qualified third fastest in his group before screaming to the win in his heat race to lock into the pole position for the 50 lap finale with Steve Francis starting alongside. The team had high hopes for the feature, and for the first 30 laps Billy battled in the top three. However, a late caution resulted in Moyer Jr.'s tires glazing over, and he would slip backwards before ultimately crossing the finish line in the ninth position.
