Dennis Erb, Jr. to Pilot Jason McBride's BWRC Machine this Weekend at Eldora CARPENTERSVILLE, IL (June 5) - Dennis Erb, Jr. and his #28 team followed the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series trail to the states of Tennessee and Kentucky on May 30-31 for a pair of $10,000 to win weekend showdowns. On Friday night at the bad-fast Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, Tennessee, Dennis timed in thirteenth fastest overall during qualifying prior to finishing fifth in his loaded heat race. After rolling off from the inside of the seventh row in the 'Toyota Knoxville 50,' Dennis was unfortunately caught up in a wreck early in the 50-lapper, which resulted in heavy damage to his #28 machine and eventually relegated him to a disappointing thirteenth place finish.
The dirt-slinging action quickly turned to the venerable Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky on Saturday evening for the 28th edition of the 'Ralph Latham Memorial.' Dennis qualified fourteenth quickest in Group A during time trials and later placed eighth in both his heat race and his B-Main. After taking use of an emergency provisional, the Carpentersville, Illinois ace worked his way past twelve competitors in the 50-lap feature to salvage another thirteenth place effort. Dennis now sits ninth in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings following the doubleheader weekend. Full results can be viewed online at

This weekend, Dennis will roll into the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on June 5-7 for the 20th Annual 'Dirt Late Model Dream.' Two prelim nights will start things off at the "Big E" culminating in Twin 25s paying $2,500 to win each on Thursday night and $5,000 to win each on Friday evening. The stakes will raise in a hurry come Saturday at the hallowed 1/2-mile, high-banked speedplant, as heat races and consolation events will precede the 100-lap 'Dirt Late Model Dream,' which once again boasts a huge $100,000 payday.
When Dennis takes to the track this weekend at the Darke County oval, he will not be behind the wheel of his familiar #28, but he will instead pilot Jason McBride's Barry Wright racecar. Dennis has made four career starts in the highest-paying event in our industry and finished an impressive runner-up last year.
