Brian Shirley and Jason Riggs Prepare for Action-Packed Weekend in Missouri and Illinois HARRISBURG, IL (May 22) - The Riggs Motorsports team - comprised of Brian Shirley and Jason Riggs - invaded LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois on May 16-17 for the track's annual 'Spring Shootout.' The two-day show at the 1/4-mile bullring was sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and was scheduled to boast a pair of $10,000 top prizes. Unfortunately, Mother Nature took the win on Friday night, but Saturday's program went off without a hitch.
Brian ran third in heat race action on Saturday, which lined him up starting from the outside of the sixth row in the 50-lap main event. However, he was involved in a couple of different cautions during the 'Spring Shootout' and ultimately retired in the twenty-third position. The Chatham, Illinois native now finds himself ninth in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings. Jason was also in competition at LaSalle, but came up short in transferring into the $10,000 to win feature after finishing eighth in his loaded heat race and sixth in his B-Main.
