Kyle Beard Gets First Win of 2014 with CCSDS Triumph

TRUMANN, Arkansas (May 20) – Kyle Beard parked his #86 Upton Motorsports/Gary Beard Trucking/Bob Pierce/Jay Dickens Racing Engine Super Late Model in victory lane for the first time in 2014 on Friday night.

The COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) presented by Lucas Oil returned to Timberline Speedway (Corley, Texas) over the weekend for a doubleheader of racing action that paid $2,000-to-win each night.

The weekend kicked off on Friday night as eighteen Super Late Models registered for battle. Beard drew the fourth starting position for his heat race and race to the win to earn the pole position for the 30 lap finale with Patrik Daniel alongside. The Trumann, Arkansas ace assumed the point at the drop of the green flag and paced the field during the first half of the event. As the field reached the halfway mark Kyle started to see pressure from second running Daniel as the duo raced side-by-side for the next line laps before seeing Beard taking sole possession of the lead once again. He went on to lead the remaining laps for the victory over Daniel, Jon Mitchell, Billy Moyer Jr., and Timothy Culp.

Saturday night saw nineteen entries registered for battle as Beard was slated to start the tail of his heat race. He raced his way to a fourth place finish, earning him the ninth starting spot for the main event. During the course of the 30 lap feature, Kyle charged his way to a second place finish at the checkered flag behind race winner, Billy Moyer Jr. Ray Moore, Clay Fisher, and Anthony Burroughs rounded out the top five finishers.

This weekend, May 22nd-24th, Kyle Beard will head to the Show-Me state to take part in the 22nd Annual Show Me 100 festivities at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Missouri). On Thursday night the Cowboy Classic will be held, which will include a $5,000 winner's feature for the Lucas Oil MLRA Super Late Models. On Friday through Saturday the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will roll into town to sanction the $30,000-to-win, Show Me 100. More information on the events are available at www.MLRARacing.com and www.LucasDirt.com .
