Riggs Motorsports Gears Up for Spring Shootout at LaSalle Speedway

HARRISBURG, IL (May 14) - One lone event greeted the Riggs Motorsports team over the May 9-10 weekend, as Brian Shirley took his #81 Rocket racecar to Kankakee County Speedway in Kankakee, Illinois on Friday night, May 9.  The American Late Model Series (ALMS) presided over a $2,000 to win program at the 1/3-mile oval located at the Kankakee County fairgrounds.  Brian timed in second quickest during the ALMS qualifying session and later finished a strong runner-up behind prelim winner Kevin Weaver in heat race action.  After starting the 'Land of Lincoln 40' from the inside of the second row, Brian survived the caution-plagued 40-lapper to claim a third place performance behind only victor Bobby Pierce and runner-up Dennis Erb, Jr.  Complete results from Kankakee can be viewed online at www.kankakeecountyspeedway.com.

Brian will jump back on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series trail this upcoming weekend (May 16-17), as the national touring series invades LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois for the two-day 'Spring Shootout.'  Both events at the 1/4-mile bullring this weekend will include a complete show jammed packed with time trials, heat races, consolation events, and 50-lap features.  The winner of the A-Main on Friday night and Saturday evening will receive $10,000 for their efforts.  Brian comes into the LaSalle doubleheader eighth in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings.

Jason Riggs, who took a rare weekend off on May 9-10, will also trek to LaSalle Speedway this upcoming weekend for the pair of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series tilts.  You can view more information concerning the 'Spring Shootout' by pointing your web browser to www.lucasdirt.com.
