Billy Moyer Prepares for Atomic Blast Following Lucas Oil Series Triple Shot

BATESVILLE, AR (May 8) - Billy Moyer and his #21 BMR team ventured to the states of Illinois and Kentucky to compete in a trio of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series battles from May 1-3.  Things kicked off on Thursday at the mighty Macon Speedway in Macon, Illinois, as the 'St. Louis U-Pic-A-Part 100' boasted a hefty $12,000 payday.  Billy finished seventh in his heat race at the tiny 1/5-mile oval, but later grabbed the third and final transfer spot through his consolation race.  After starting the 100-lapper from the outside of the eleventh row, Billy was unfortunately an early retiree and wound up being paid for twenty-second at the pay window following the night's festivities.

On Friday night, the action quickly shifted to Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois and a $10,000 top prize was on the line.  Billy won his heat race prior to notching a solid sixth place effort in the 50-lap main event, as he trailed only winner Scott Bloomquist, Jimmy Owens, Randy Korte, Don O'Neal, and John Blankenship at the checkers.  In the weekend finale on Saturday evening at Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky, "Mr. Smooth" once again won his heat race in preliminary action and was running second in the $10,000 to win feature until suffering an untimely flat tire on lap 32.  Billy eventually placed seventeenth in the final finishing order at PIR.  Full results can be obtained by clicking on www.lucasdirt.com.

The National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) schedule heats back up this weekend (May 9-10) and will take Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) to the Buckeye State of Ohio.  A pair of special events will be held at Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe, Ohio starting with a $5,000 to win program on Friday night.  The 'Atomic Blast' weekend at the track formerly known as K-C Raceway will then conclude with a huge $15,000 to win extravaganza on Saturday evening.  Billy comes into Atomic eighth in the latest version of the NDRL point standings.  Additional information on the 'Atomic Blast' can be found by pointing your web browser to www.thendrl.com.
