14th Annual Skyler Trull Memorial rescheduled for next weekend GASTONIA, NC - Carolina Speedway officials have made the decision to postpone the 14th Annual Skyler Trull Memorial until next weekend March 14-15.
With heavy rain and wintery mix conditions projected through 8:00 PM Friday, the decision was made to move the entire show until next weekend.
"We want our race fans and teams to see and participate in two full days of racing, said Carolina Speedway's Clint Elkins. " The Skyler Trull Memorial has been a two day show for many years and we want to continue that tradition. The original rain date was for March 14th so we are going to stick with that," said Elkins.
"Saturday is forecasted to be a nice day but with the amount of precipitation expected on Friday we are concerned with how wet the grounds will be on Saturday," said Carolina Speedway's Mark Gibbons. "That is why we felt the best decision was to just postpone the event until next weekend March 14-15."
"We apologize for any inconvenience this may have with fans traveling to the event, but we felt like this was the best decision to make, said Elkins "The long range forecast for next weekend is for beautiful weather, plus we have the added advantage of daylight savings time so hopefully we can have the best Skyler Trull Memorial in history."
The schedule of events for March 14-15 will be the same as originally scheduled. For more information please visit
