Virginia Motor Speedway signs multi-year contract to host the $20,000 to win Fastrak World Championshipby Dave Seay
JAMAICA, VA (January 31) - After unprecedented interest by competitors in the 2014 $20,000 to win Fastrak World Championship to be held at Virginia Motor Speedway on October 2-4, 2014 officials at both Virginia Motor Speedway and Fastrak Racing are proud to announce that a new contract has been signed that will keep the “Super Bowl” of Pro Late Models at Virginia Motor Speedway through the 2016 season. The three year deal also includes an option for an additional three years.
“With the addition of the Aaron’s Pro Late Model division at our speedway and with the early interest in the World Championship in only makes sense to extend the contract and let everyone know that the “Super Bowl” for Pro Late Models has a home well into the future ,” commented track owner Bill Sawyer.
This year’s Fastrak World Championships will have a new and improved format that will include a $10,000 to win Fastrak Northeast Regional Race-Off as well as a $10,000 to win Fastrak Southeast Regional Race-Off before heading to Virginia Motor Speedway for the final $20,000 World Championship event. Should someone win all three events that person will pocket an additional $10,000 bonus, making it a $50,000 total payday. All three events will be paid each night of the World Championships.
It has already been announced that the Northeast Regional Race-Off will be contested at Tyler County Speedway in Middlebourne, WV on September 18 – 20, 2014 and that the Southeast Regional Race-Off will be contested at Princeton Speedway in Princeton, WV on September 25 – 27, 2014.
“I was surprised when I received the call from Bill Sawyer but very grateful to hear that he suggested extending the contract to three years. This is great news and it is nice to know that this event has become this sought after and that everyone knows where the event will be held through at least 2016,” stated Fastrak CEO / Founder Stan Lester
Lester added, “We have some great ideas with possibly adding additional classes to this event and growing this into a mega event at Virginia Motor Speedway.”
