Chris Ferguson Set to Tackle National Dirt Racing League Schedule in 2014

MOUNT HOLLY, North Carolina – After a solid 2013 season of racing primarily at southeast regional events, 2011 ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series Champion Chris Ferguson of Mount Holly, North Carolina is taking on a “national” dirt racing tour schedule for the first time in his driving career. In 2014 Ferguson is set to embark on the upstart National Dirt Racing League’s lucrative 30 event schedule. The National Dirt Racing League, founded by John Kennedy, expanded from 5 events in 2013 to a full scale touring series for 2014 and is offering events with quality purses and incentives. Ferguson will tackle the NDRL schedule with the support of primary sponsors Great America Moonshine and Stout 21 brands of adult beverages.

“We have had some great success this year. We didn’t win a lot of races but we were able to compete and finish consistently in the top 5 against regional and national competition. So we felt like this was the year that we needed to try to expand or horizons a little and do some more traveling. We can’t do 50 races and be on the road for weeks at a time. So the NDRL schedule works out really well for us and it is a good fit for our sponsors too. We have raced at several of the tracks they have scheduled and we have had success at a lot of them. So our expectations are pretty high.” Ferguson said.

Ferguson will once again utilize Warrior Race Cars and Clements Racing Engines in his quest for the $65,000 NDRL Championship and the 2nd year series’ Rookie of the Year title. Ferguson will open up the 2014 NDRL Tour at East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, Alabama for the 17th Annual Bama Bash on February 28th through March 1st. The NDRL lid lifter event pays $17,017 to win at the popular southeastern Alabama oval. For more complete information on the National Dirt Racing League check out www.thendrl.com .
