Josh McGuire Racing Eyes Halloween 50 at 201 Speedway on Heels of DTWC

GRAYSON, KY (October 24) - Josh McGuire Racing (JMR) returned to action on October 18-19 in the 33rd edition of the 'Dirt Track World Championship' at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio. A stellar field of 79 competitors converged on PRP to compete in the crown jewel extravaganza, which boasted a hefty $50,000 payday. On Friday night, Josh McGuire timed in twentieth fastest in Group B during the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series qualifying session and later finished fifth in his loaded heat race.

When the tension really mounted on Saturday evening, Josh ran third in his B-Main, which was one mere position away from a coveted transfer spot into the 100-lap DTWC. As a consolation prize, Josh was able to compete in the 'Jim Dunn Memorial' Non-Qualifiers Race. The Grayson, Kentucky ace wound up fifth in the $3,000 to win race behind only winner R.J. The #41 team will now set their sights on the 2nd Annual ‘Halloween 50,’ which is scheduled for this Saturday evening, October 26 at 201 Speedway in Sitka, Kentucky. The unsanctioned, one-day battle in the Commonwealth of Kentucky will be headlined by a 50-lap main event and the winner will receive $5,000 for their efforts.
