Mars Racing Heads East to Selinsgrove and Roaring Knob On Heels of Podium Finish

MENOMONIE, WI (August 29) - The Mars Racing team made a rare trip to the Oshkosh Speedzone in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on Friday evening, August 23 for the 4th Annual 'George Scheffler Memorial.'  The Wisconsin Dirt Late Model Association (WDLMA) sanctioned the one-day program, which was highlighted by a $5,000 to win headliner.  Jimmy Mars posted the third quickest lap in his group during qualifying and later ran second in heat race action.  After starting the A-Main from the outside of the fifth row, Jimmy blasted past seven cars on his way to a strong third place effort behind only race winner A.J. Diemel and runner-up Mitch McGrath.  Full results from Oshkosh can be viewed online at www.wdlma.net.

Jimmy and his #28 team will head east over the busy Labor Day holiday weekend to compete at a pair of Keystone State speedplants from August 31-September 2.  On Saturday and Sunday, the Selinsgrove Speedway in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania will play host to a pair of World of Outlaws Late Model Series events.  The ‘Showdown on Sand Hill’ boasts an $8,000 winner’s check on Saturday, while the 50-lap ‘Late Model National Open’ will pay the victor $10,000 on Sunday night.

The Menomonie, Wisconsin star will then bring the National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) point lead into the Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex in Markleysburg, Pennsylvania on Monday, September 2.  The ‘Let’s Get Dirty 75’ at Roaring Knob on Monday has a whopping $20,000 top prize.  With only three NDRL events left on the 2013 schedule, Jimmy is also eying the $20,000 check that will be going to the inaugural series Champion.  Additional information on the three-race Labor Day weekend can be accessed by clicking on www.woolms.com and www.thendrl.com.
