Chris Ferguson has successful month of August

MT. HOLLY, North Carolina (August 29) – Over the last month Chris Ferguson has been very busy behind the wheel of his Stout21, XSAN, Keith’s Handyman Warrior. Ferguson has amassed 4 top 5’s in the last 4 races.  All 4 races where at different tracks in 3 different states. Ferguson will return to the seat of his family-owned Super Late Model September 12th for the I-77 Speedway Shrine Race.  July 2012 was the last time Chris raced at I-77 Speedway, capturing a special crate win in dominating fashion. “Racing there was a lot of fun last year but I’m excited to get back there in a super late model ” Ferguson said.

Ferguson traveled to Lavonia, Georgia in early August for the $4,000 to win Ultimate Super Late Model Series race. He was able to get things started off by timing in 10th fastest overall and winning his respective heat race. Starting 10th in caution free 40 lap race made it difficult to make up ground, but Ferguson managed to still pass competitors and make it to 4th before the finish. Ferguson admitted “We had a better car than where we finished, but to pass that many good cars without a caution shows how fast we were.”

The next night, Ferguson and his Stout21 Super Late Model team ventured over to North Georgia Speedway for another $4,000 to win Ultimate event. After timing in 2nd fastest overall, Ferguson raced alongside regional standout Randy Weaver to the green flag. Ferguson slipped back to 5th early racing with Weaver, Marlar, Loyd, and Roberts, but rebounded to take 3rd at the finish. This made for Ferguson’s 2nd top 5 of the weekend.

August 13th marked Chris’s return to his home track, Carolina Speedway for the Shrine 100. The event was sanctioned by the Carolina Clash series. After timing in 2nd quick overall, Ferguson again battled for the top with Dennis Franklin and Johnny Pursley. However, Ferguson had to settle for another 3rd place finish after making a wrong tire call in the main event. The Ferguson family/team donated around $1,000 to the Shriners Hospital that night through a helmet raffle.

Ferguson continued with the Carolina Clash Series last weekend at Lancaster Motor Speedway for another $4,000 to win event. In time trials, the Stout21 machine qualified 5th fastest overall. After picking off 4 cars, Ferguson found himself with a runner up finish in the main event. “Fergy” was pleased with his performance on a track that primarily had one groove around the bottom, “I’m happy to pass some really good cars tonight. With the track being so quick, it was difficult to pass, but our Clements Powered Warrior was strong tonight.”

Ferguson would also like to recognize all the sponsors on his Clements powered #21 Warrior Super Late Model including Stout21, XSAN TV, Keith’s Handyman Service, D1 Enterprises, Quality Landscape Materials, Big A’s Custom Graphics, Max Baxter Roofing, Warrior Race Cars, Quality Fasteners Inc.,  K&N Filters, FK Rod Ends, Fragola Performance Systems, ThreeWide Clothing, Schaeffer’s Racing Oil and Lubricants, ButlerBuilt Professional Seat Systems, CV Products,  Hooker Harness, Port City Racing, Keyser Manufacturing, Fluidyne High Performance, Stock Car Steel, SRI Supply, VP Racing Fuels, Tiger Rear Ends, Hi Bridge Automotive,  GW Performance, Weld Wheels, Outerwears, Clements Racing Engines, RF Composites, Performance Friction PFC, Hypercoil, , Indocil Art, ASI Racewear, Brinn Transmissions, 006 Racing and Schoenfeld Headers
