Chad Stapleton Rebounds for Seventh Win; Labor Day Slate Next

by Ben Shelton
EDINBURGH, Indiana (August 28) - A week after seeing a disappointing, mechanical failure end his night in Moler Raceway Park's biggest race of the year Chad Stapleton triumphantly returned to the facility on Friday night by scoring the feature win in his #32 Stapleton Motorsports/Rightway Construction/Skeletor Core/Barry Wright/Jay Dickens Racing Engine Super Late Model.

Sixteen Super Late Models took part in the Weekly Racing Series Event at the Williamsburg, Ohio oval, and Chad won his heat race from the 2nd starting spot to lock into the pole position for the feature with John Whitney joining him on the front row. Stapleton went on to score the victory, which marked his seventh of the 2013 season.  He was followed across the finish line by Jesse Lay, John Whitney, James Rice, and Bill Sheets.  Full results from the program are available at www.MolerRacewayPark.com .

Saturday night took the team to the state-of-the-art, Lawrenceburg Speedway (Lawrenceburg, Indiana) for the annual Whiskey 50, which was sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS).  With 28 entries on hand for the $10,000-to-win event Stapleton finished 4th in his heat race to lock into the 10th starting spot for the 50 lap finale.  Chad raced in the top ten for much of the event before slowing to draw a caution on lap 35.  He would go on to be credited with a 15th place finish.  Full results from the event are available at www.LucasDirt.com .

The Labor Day weekend will find Stapleton entering a trio of events in Ohio and Indiana.  Action opens on Friday night with Fan Appreciation Night at Moler Raceway Park (Williamsburg, Ohio) before moving to Brownstown Speedway (Brownstown, Indiana) for the annual Hall of Fame Classic on Saturday evening.  The weekend will draw to a close on Sunday evening at Twin Cities Raceway Park (North Vernon, Indiana) with  the $2,000-to-win, Ted Collins Memorial.  More information on the events can be found at www.MolerRacewayPark.com, www.BrownstownSpeedway.com and www.TwinCitiesRacewayPark.net .
