HEYDER HAULS IN HILLTOP TRUCK WIN; LEE & SHROYER ADD TO WIN LIST; T.WILSON, ST. JOHN & B. WILSON GET 1st WINS

MILLERSBURG, OH (July 13) - After two weeks of rain outs, Hilltop Speedway got back into action with the Bugs-R-Gone Trucks finally getting to run their big race of the season and the wait was worth it for Galena’s Rolly Heyder as he started the night out by setting a new track record for the trucks at 18.980 seconds and then start on the outside front row with dash winner Bryan Lillibridge on the pole. At the drop of the green for the 20 lap feature, Heyder snared the lead aboard the Jack Maxton Chevrolet, Nichel’s Towing and Rader Construction #10 and after a couple of challenges early on from Lillibridge, pulled away to pocket the $400 first place money and post his third win of the season. Lillibridge held on to second as Jerry Gardner, Kevin Davis and Kevin Potts rounded out the top five with heat winner Tom Garlick taking sixth.

Dash winner Ty Myers and George Lee started up front of the Holmes Tire Late Model main with Myers taking control early with Lee in pursuit. With a fast pace set, the two leaders quickly got into lapped traffic and at the halfway mark, Myers went low and Lee went high coming out of turn four to get around a lapped car with Lee snagging the point and then the Loudonville driver would drive away in his LSI, Cowen Trucking and Bert Transmission’s #61 for his fourth win of the year. Myers took second ahead of fast qualifier Charlie Duncan with Ryan Markham and Jesse Wisecarver trailing. Wisecarver and Brad Malcuit topped the heats.

Zanesville’s Tanner Wilson set fast time for the Raceday Photos Modifieds and then finished second to Norm Aronhalt in the dash to start on the outside front row for their feature and when the green flag waved, out dueled Aronhalt for the opening two laps before pulling away in his Lucas Oil and Buckeye Screen Print #17 to put his name into the list of winners at Hilltop Speedway. It was a race long battle for third place with Jess Hartman, Kevin Morehouse and Jesse Wisecarver as those three would swap positions on each lap before finishing in that order. Heat winners Jimmy Smith and Nathan Loney would finish sixth and seventh.

John Wilson, Kyle Dickinson and Matt Shroyer won the heats for the Street Stocks to start in the top three positions for their feature with Wilson edging out Dickinson for the top spot on the opening two circuits but Shroyer took over second on lap three and then drove the Coshocton based, Service Welding #15s on a super slide job going into turn three on Wilson on came out of turn for on lap eight with the lead and never looked back for his third win of the season. Wilson hung on to second as Ryan Wisecarver motored past Dickinson with two laps to go to claim third as Brandon Gardner snatched fifth.

Jason St. John of Glenmont, celebrated his birthday by going flag to flag to win his first Mini Stock win of the season driving the Tobacco Hut #48. Terry Adkins and Brad Hensel was right on St. John’s rear bumper all race long but could never make the pass. James Priebe and Jordan James rounded out the top five as Priebe, St. John and Jerry Adkins notched the heat wins with Brian Wolford pacing the last chance race.

Braxton Wilson had three second place finishes so far in the Mike’s Service Mini Wedges and the Coshocton youngster finally broke through into the winner’s circle by leading all the way aboard the A & B Constuction, Coshocton Eagles and Innovative Graphics #28. Destinie Bates finished second with Brayden Renfrew, Tristen Brown and Tyler Tenant in tow. Blake Morris posted the win in the second feature with Kryssa Beagle, Hannah Rose, Taylor Huggins and Jeff Dovenbarger in the top five. Heat winners were Bates, Wilson and Brown.

It will be Fan Appreciation Night at Hilltop Speedway with a full regular racing card set for the Saturday, July 20th.
