Todd Hall Finishes Fifth at Camden; Jim Hall Memorial Next

by Ben Shelton
CHARLESTON, MO (June 26) – Todd Hall piloted his #99 FTS Logistics/Mastersbilt/Russell Baker Racing Engine Super Late Model to a fifth place finish on Friday night in a $2,000-to-win, COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) event at Camden Speedway (Camden, Tennessee).

Twenty-four Super Late Models entered the program, and Todd started his night by racing to a second place finish in his heat race, which positioned him starting fifth on the grid for the 35 lap finale.  He raced in the top five for the duration of the event, and reached as high as the third position before his tires began to go away late in the race.  As a result he settled into a fifth place finish behind race winner, Ross Camponovo, Kyle Beard, Robert Baker, and Clay Fisher.

Full results from the event are available at www.COMPDirt.com.

Todd now turns his attention to his next Super Late Model event, which will be held this Friday night at Benton Raceway Park (Benton, Missouri) with the inaugural Jim Hall 99 Memorial, which will pay homage to his late Grandfather, Jim Hall.

Jim began racing in 1954 and helped bring dirt track racing to southeast Missouri with the Charleston Jaycee track.  He raced in various divisions throughout his career including A Cars, B Cars, Sprint Cars, and Dirt Late Models with hundreds of feature wins spread across the divisions throughout the years.  In 1984 he even began competing with USAC and ran sixteen USAC and ARCA series, which included events on both short tracks and super speedways, where his record included 2 top-ten-finishes, 1 top-five-finish, and 7 top-twenty-finishes.  In 1986 he began another era of his motorsports career by supplying engines to outside customers with Hall Racing Engines, which he sent to customers worldwide.  For more information on the Jim Hall 99 Memorial, please visit www.BentonRacewayPark.com .
