Josh McGuire Blasts to Southern 100 Top Five; Prepares for Trip to 201 Speedway
 
GRAYSON, KY (May 8) - The Josh McGuire Racing (JMR) team converged once again on Southern Ohio Speedway in Wheelersburg, Ohio on May 3-4 for the 18th Annual 'Southern 100.'  On Friday night, a $4,000 top prize was on the line in a tune-up race.  Josh McGuire wound up sixth in his heat race, but later won his B-Main to advance into the 40-lap main event.  The Grayson, Kentucky driver then retired early in the A-Main, choosing to save his equipment and was placed sixteenth in the final finishing order.
 
In the $12,000 to win 'Southern 100' Championship on Saturday evening, Josh ran fifth in heat race action, which locked him into the inside of the ninth row for the 60-lap feature event.  The popular driver known as "Bad Fast" was indeed bad fast during the unsanctioned race, as he blasted past thirteen competitors en route to an impressive fourth place performance.  Josh crossed underneath the checkers behind only winner Doug Drown, R.J. Josh and his #41 team are set to travel to 201 Speedway in Sitka, Kentucky this Saturday evening, May 11.  An unsanctioned program will be held at 201 and the ‘Coal Field 50’ will pay $3,000 to the winner.  Josh has already tasted the spoils of victory lane at 201 this year, as he took home the win back on April 13.  Additional information can be obtained by clicking on www.201speedway.net.
