Mike Marlar Finishes Second at Cleveland; Duck River Next

WINFIELD, Tennessee (04/24/13) - Mike Marlar raced his #5b Bryson Motorsports/Rocket/Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model to a runner-up finish on Saturday night at Cleveland Speedway (Cleveland, Tennessee).

With Friday night's scheduled Spring Nationals event at Ponderosa Speedway (Junction City, Kentucky) washed away by Mother Nature the team entered a single event over the weekend as they took part in a $6,000-to-win, Spring Nationals event at Cleveland Speedway (Cleveland, Tennessee) on Saturday night.

Twenty-one entries registered for battle, and after qualifying second fastest in his group Mike started third in the main event.  Early in the race he slipped as far back as the fourth spot as it took a few laps before his tires to fire.  As the race progressed Mike's car began to get better and better, and in the closing laps he worked into the second spot as he set his sights on the leader, Randy Weaver.  Marlar would catch Weaver in the final laps, but would be unable to take over the top spot as he settled for a second place finish.  Full results from the event are available at www.SouthernNationalsSeries.com.
